Blast Joint

DOTS Blast Joints are thick-walled tubing joints placed adjacent to the good perforations. They provide an erosion allowance from the high velocity jetting action at the perforations that also may carry abrasive debris from the good formation.

The blast joints are available in 10- or 20-feet lengths.

The Blast Joints are used to prevent the production string from being damaged by flowing oil and gas erosion.

It is often used in the double/multi-string or single-string completion when the pipe column is facing the part of the perforation section.

It is commonly installed as part of the tubing string and is placed in opposite sections of the good bore where production inflow will take place.

Application
  • Extends life of production tubing and completion equipment by minimizing the effect of internal and external erosion caused by turbulent flow and jetting of fluid at the perforation area.
Features
  • Available in a large range of sizes and lengths.
  • Manufactured with a variety of different thread types (API/Proprietary) and thread Sizes.

Mill out Extensions

Mill-Out Extension is a tubular product which resembles pup joints/pup joint extensions and is not actually “milled” as its name implies.
They have an ID which is larger than that of its mating packer bore ID that it will be used with.

Application
  • Larger ID allows for collet on packer milling/retrieving tool to latch into place.
  • Allows movement of milling/retrieving tool as it moves downward during the milling process of the packer.
  • The appropriate length of the Mill-Out extension ensures no other components below the packer come in contact with the milling/retrieving tool.
Features
  • Comes with a variety of different thread types (API/Proprietary) and Thread size combinations (Pin x Pin / Box x Box / Box Pin)
  • Each Mill-Out Extension has a larger ID than the mating Packer bore ID.
Benefits
  • Easy to install & customized design
Technical Specification & Sizes
  • Typically, the Mill-Out Extension ID and OD surface finish are not critical.
  • The Mill-Out Extensions can be set up as pup joint/pup joint extensions if the design requirement meets the API Tubing/Casing nominal IDs.
  • ID is required to be 3/8” (preferred), or more, larger than packer bore ID.
  • The preferred Mill-Out extension length is 8’ (96”). Shorter lengths are also available but are required to be verified for sufficient packer retrieving/milling tool length.
  • It can be made of different thread types ranging from API threads to various proprietary threads (Premium Threads).
Flow Coupling

A relatively short, heavy-walled completion component is installed in areas where turbulence is anticipated.

Flow Couplings are heavy wall connectors used in tubing strings and are designed to minimize the effect of internal erosive action caused by production fluids. Flow couplings are located just above and below flow control equipment where turbulent flow problems are likely to occur.

Application
  • Extends the life of production tubing and completion equipment by minimizing the effect of internal and external erosion caused by turbulent flow.
  • Installation is above and below the tool, which has ID restrictions for flow e.g. small diameter nipple profiles, expansion joints, safety valves, gauges and gas lift mandrels.
Features
  • Complies with API 5CT.
  • Manufactured with a variety of different thread types (API/Proprietary) and thread Sizes.
Benefits
  • Connection and body performance exceed or match the production tubing.
Technical Specification & Sizes
  • Flow Couplings are provided in all sizes, weights and material specifications for standard services, H2S environment, and HP/HT conditions
  • Flow couplings are manufactured from seamless mechanical tubes in sizes ranging from 2 3/8” to 4 1/2” OD.
  • Any length, grade of material, and threading are available at the customer’s request. Typical lengths are 3′ and 6′.
Locators

Locators are used for the location of various wireline flow control devices in the production string. This locator contains a no-go shoulder used to locate and set the flow control device being run into the well.
The location and number of Top No-Go Seating Locators should be carefully considered in the completion planning stages to allow maximum versatility in the positioning of various flow control devices
The bottom no-go locator is used to land, lock with attached flow control devices in the production tubing string.

  • Different types of Locators are available e.g. No-Go Locator, Straight Slot Locator, J-Slot Locator, Latch Locator as per specific applications.
Entry & Re-Entry Guide (WLEG)

The “Wireline Entry guide” are used for safe re-entry of wireline tools from the casing into the tubing string. The internal bevel guides the wireline or slick line tool string back into the tubing.
Mule shoe guide is a standard guide for all the of Completion equipment’s.

Application
  • Safe re-entry of wire line or slick line tools into the tubing string.

Centralizer Tandem

In certain types of TCP operations, it is desirable to centralize the guns and other tools in the casing. It’s designed a full range of centralizers to meet this requirement for all gun sizes. The fill disk is used where either packer selection or well conditions preclude the use of a venting device. The Fill Desk is used in place of a perforated sub and replaces the balanced isolation tool (BIT) in wells with reasonably clean fluids. The glass disk prevents debris from settling on the firing head. Pressure is equalized across the glass disk.

Firing Head

Designed as firing head and mechanical connection between correlation device and loaded perforating gun system using the Top Fire family of detonators GO type connection.

Vertical Shock Absorber, 2 7/8” EUE
  APPLICATION

The vertical shock absorber is designed to prevent the packer from      unseating and protect gauges in the string when the guns are fired giving rise to initial pressure shocks and disturbances.

OPERATION

Shock waves transmitted to the base of the shock tool are absorbed   and cushioned by the use of Belleville washers on both up and down strokes.u

ASSEMBLY

The tool is normally pre-assembled at manufacture. It can, however, be disassembled by removing upper and lower lock screws holding the top and bottom subs in place which allows access to the washers placed over the mandrel.
